Meet Bunu Tamang
Founder & Chief Safety Guide | Female Trekking Specialist
My Story
Her journey began as one of the first female trekking guides from Kathmanduin Nepal, overcoming cultural barriers to establish herself as a trusted expert. She has guided over 200 expeditions across all major trekking regions including Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and Mustang.
Bunu holds multiple certifications including Wilderness First Responder, Mountain Guide Certification, and specialized training in altitude medicine. She is fluent in English, Nepali, and Tamang, allowing her to bridge cultural gaps between trekkers and local communities.
Her safety record is impeccable with 100% safe returns on all expeditions. Bunu has personally trained over 50 female guides and porters, creating economic opportunities for women in remote mountain communities.
Beyond guiding, Bunu conducts safety workshops for trekking companies and collaborates with the Nepal Tourism Board to establish safety standards. Her expertise extends to emergency response in high-altitude environments, having participated in several successful rescue operations.
Bunu's philosophy combines traditional mountain wisdom with modern safety protocols, creating a unique trekking experience that prioritizes both adventure and well-being. She continues to lead expeditions while mentoring the next generation of female trekking professionals.
