Bunu started her career on trekking field as a porter. She was hired as a porter on 2010 AD while trekking to Ghorepani Poon Hill. Having been raised in Lalitpur, she had no experience to walk uphill and downhill on narrow and dirt trail. Initially, she felt very hard to walk on such difficult trail of Himalayas carrying loads of a trekkers.

To became financially independent motivated Bunu to continue her journey in this field. From Porter, she began her career as an assistant female guide. Then after guiding numerous treks, she became senior female trekking guide in Nepal having capability to led trek independently.

Bunu founded Nepal Trekscape as the women-led trekking agency on 2023 AD. During the continuation of her career, she faced social barrier.
